A quick and crispy potato snack made in the air fryer with little oil. Perfect as a side or a crunchy treat.
Ingredients:
- 2–3 medium potatoes (like Russet, Yukon Gold, or red potatoes)
- 1–2 tablespoons olive oil (optional, but helps make them crispy)
- Salt (as per taste)
Optional spices (use what you like):
- Garlic powder
- Paprika
- Black pepper
- Dried herbs (like rosemary or thyme)
Instructions:
- Wash and Slice the Potatoes
Rinse the potatoes well. You can peel them or leave the skin on—your choice.
Cut the potatoes into thin round slices (about 1/8-inch thick). Use a knife or a slicer to make even pieces. - Soak the Slices (Optional)
Put the potato slices in a bowl of cold water and let them sit for 15–30 minutes. This removes extra starch, which helps them get crispier.
After soaking, drain the water and dry the slices with a clean towel. - Add Oil and Spices
Place the slices in a bowl. Add olive oil and any spices you like. Mix everything so the slices are coated evenly. - Air Fry the Potato Slices
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Put the slices in the air fryer basket in a single layer (don’t stack them).
Cook for 10–15 minutes, turning them halfway through.
Keep checking them near the end so they don’t burn. - Ready to Serve
Take them out when they’re golden and crispy. Sprinkle some salt or extra seasoning if you want.
Enjoy hot with your favorite dip or as a snack.
Tips & Tricks:
- Thinner slices turn out crispier.
- For chips that are crispy outside and soft inside, cut the slices a bit thicker and add 1–2 minutes extra cooking time.
- Don’t overload the basket—cook in batches if needed.
